What You’ll Learn

Through 18 credits of required and elective coursework, students examine the structure and function of public health systems and gain a working knowledge of epidemiology, biostatistics and public health policy. You'll explore the causes and consequences of health disparities and learn to apply evidence-based strategies that improve health outcomes.

Part A - Introductory Course (3 units):

  • PBH 101 - Foundations of Public Health

Part B - Required Courses (6 units) - Choose 2 from:

  • KIN 120 - Foundations of Personal Health and Wellness
  • PBH 220 - Introduction to Public Health Biology
  • PBH 211 - Technical Writing in the Health Sciences
  • PBH 281 - Introduction to Biostatistics in Public Health

Part C - Elective Courses (9 units):

  • Any CHS, KIN, or PED course numbered 300-499
